Who we are

What we collect

• Your name, phone number, email address and service address.
• Details of the job, including door and lock information, photographs of work where relevant, and notes about access.
• Verification information sighted at the time of a lockout, such as the type of identification and proof of entitlement produced. We record that a check was made and what document type was sighted; we do not retain copies of identity documents unless you ask us to for a key authority register.
• Billing information and invoice records.
• For restricted key systems, the names of people authorised to request key duplicates and a record of keys issued.
• Basic technical information when you use this website, such as pages requested and general error information used to keep the site working.

Why we collect it

To quote and perform locksmith work, to verify that a person requesting entry or a key is entitled to it, to invoice and keep tax records, to honour warranties, and to respond to your enquiries. We do not collect personal information we do not need for these purposes.

How we collect it

Directly from you by phone, email, the enquiry form on this site, or in person on site. Sometimes from a third party who arranges work on your behalf, such as a property manager, owners corporation or employer.

The enquiry form on this site

The quote form on our contact page composes an email in your own email application. The details you type are not stored on this website and are only received by us once you choose to send that email.

Disclosure

We disclose personal information only where necessary, for example to:

• a technician or subcontractor attending your job;
• a property manager, landlord or owners corporation where they arranged and are paying for the work;
• our accountant, bookkeeper or payment processor for billing purposes;
• law enforcement or another authority where we are required or permitted by law to do so.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not trade contact details to lead generators or marketing companies.

Security key information

Key codes, key schedules and master key records are security-sensitive. We keep them separately from general customer records, restrict access to them, and only act on duplicate requests from a person named on the relevant authority list.

Storage and retention

Records are held in access-controlled systems. We keep invoices and job records for the period required by Australian taxation and business record-keeping law, currently at least five years, and key system records for as long as the system remains in service. Information no longer needed is deleted or de-identified.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the software we use for email, invoicing or website hosting may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that is the case we take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate protections.

Cookies and analytics

This website is designed to work without advertising trackers. Any cookies used are those strictly necessary to serve the site. If we later add analytics or advertising tools, this policy will be updated to say so before they are used.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@quickprolocksmiths.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The current version is always published on this page.
